Default Wrestlemania 23, Hoop D's MD tattoo, T-12 dayz, and my new truck.

First things first. let's get the awesomeness out of the way...

possibly the best Wrestlemania Moment ever. Why it wasn't the headliner booking. I don't know..

ok...So Hoop D and Big T came in Thursday night. Two big, tired, flight weary, and hungry boyz. We went out for Tacos and they were passed out before TNA was even over w/ that night. Friday I had to bust out some Web Design and then we shot down to Chinatown to get some lunch at Joy Yee. best in Chicago. I also bought a new Kendo stick, which I'm keeping wrapped in the plastic until it is needed in OVW. Then for the next 2 hours my brother had terrible garlic chicken gas burps which he would blow into the general direction of Big T and only once to me. cuz he got haunchered for it bad. I also blasted him w/ few basil beef belches myself. quality. Big T had the Budhist Delight, and ADD. So he just stared blankly out the red line window.

came back to the grey water inn, and took down a 30 rack of High Life's, then we got into some Vodka, Rum, and an ECW DVD. boop everybody's out by 11 pm.

Saturday. I had to finish up some web work so those guys just went downtown on their 3 day passes to get coffee. when they got back I took this pic of Hoop D's Memorial Bill Tattoo. It's pretty damn good. It was my idea.

We grabbed some steaks, corn, and shrimp from Jewel and I tore it down C Murder steez on the grill. Drank more booze and passed out early for the big trip to Detroit the next day.

Sunday. Wrestlemania 23. I grabbed the rental and shot back to get packed up. we hit jewel for gatorades and road snacks, and then we were on the road like jack. Traffic was pretty easy the whole way, aside from midwest morons who don't know how to use the passing lane properly. but hey. they are midwest morons. about 4 1/2 hrs total to get to Detroit, and we were stayin for Free at The Marriot. which is a joined to the GM building. so it's pretty much the nicest hotel in Detroit. Big T won 2 nights anywhere in the U.S. doing some online survey bullshit. but it worked out damn good for us. 2 queen size bedz on the 43rd floor. If you've ever or never been in the GM building, it's pretty bad ass to see. but a bitch to walk around. the whole building is in a circle and it's like running around a track to get anywhere. very tough to get your bearings in, when loaded. We got in, and started boozin it up before the show.

on the walk over to Ford Field we had to get a scalped ticket for Big T cuz he has ADD and lost his one back in Utica that he got off Ebay which was real close to our club seats. He said though he ended up sitting near a bunch of gay dudes who actually sold the tickets to the guys on the street we got them from. so he had a good time sitting with them. cuz Big T is out of the closet. which someday I'll address in a long post about the legend of Big T. anyway...

$9 for a beer. $5.25 Hotdogs, $3 pretzels. $1 cheese. multiply that times 4 and Hoop D and I are off to our seats. Club 229 row 7 seats 9,10. oh it was also bad ass when we were getting in cuz club has a private entrance so we weren't out w/ all the marks in line...Club seats are also cushioned and have more leg room. nice.

Ford Field is a big bastard. We broke the total attendance record at 80,103.

Default Part II

So Lilian Garcia gets the crowd pumped, announcers come down. Huge JR pop. The first match... $ in the Bank Ladder Match...everybody's like what the fuck are the doing? instantly the smart fans say that whoever wins this match may do a run in at the end of the show to take the world title, because why else would you book this match first. it's definitely one of the 3 most important matches of the night. so how does this opening the show influence the end??? it doesn't. it's just bad booking. They should have opened w/ Benoit vs. MVP. but they didn't.

The $ in the bank was damn good though. High spots include...Edge hitting 5 spears in a row back to back, followed by Orton doing 5 RKO's in a row back to to back. Jeff Hardy put Edge on a ladder across the apron and the fan barrier. then he climbed a ladder in the middle of the ring and did a seated senton onto Edge's chest and put him Through the ladder. yes that's right, put him through the ladder. Edge stretchered out.
Fit Finley, Mr. Kennedy spots. Then the leprechaun for Fit Finley comes out. super gay. but the Mr. Kennedy picks the midget up, fireman's carry style. goes up to the 3rd rung of the ladder and gives the midget a rolling Kenton Bomb. awesome. Mr. Kennedy climbs the ladder to become MRRRRRRRR. MONEY IN THE BANK........BAAAANK. just like I called it a month ago.

Benoit vs. MVP. who cares at this point. cuz it shoulda opened.

Kane vs. Kahli. terrible match. the only thing decent that happened is that Kahli did the Andre the Giant rope tie up in honor of Wrestlemania 3. which this is the 20th anniversary of. Best thing that happened during this match is that Kane's Pyro lit a big fire backstage and you could hear them discharging massive ammounts of fire extinguishers to try and get it out for like 2 minutes.

Bautista vs. Undertaker. incredible pyro and entrances for both.

druids always rule...

the match was the classic undertaker wrestlemania package. we were surrounded by Mark ass fans who were trying to bring heat down on Bautista. about half way through the match they quieted down and then Hoop D and I let loose at torrent of anti Undertaker and mark fans slurs.
"I stopped believing in mythic angles when I was 12!", "This match ruled on Smackdown 4 years ago!", "Yokozuna Ruined You!", "Limp Biscuit sucks and so do you!" "Mordeci 4 Life!" and what not. that gets people pissed cuz they know he really is played out. so then they turn around to talk shit, and then they get told about how much of a mark they are and are astounded by my wrestling knowledge in the ensuing arguement. then they slink back down in their chair and try to cheer for the undertaker in their embarassment the rest of the match. either way, the undertakers moment has been ruined slightly for them by me and Hoop D. which is all we ever wanted. because we're smart fans, insiders.
There were a lot of false finishes and finisher kick outs in this, which sold the drama. otherwise. whatever.

Default Part III or as I call it limits on pics and posts suck.

Vince vs. Trump ... Lashley vs. Umaga.... Stone cold referree

incredible. best Wrestlemania Moment ever.

During the match Austin kept grabbing Umaga by the dreads to break his five count on corner beat downs or chokes on Lashley. So that builds the drama until the time Umaga give Stone Cold the old Samoan Spike to the throat. Stone cold down. Shane McMahon comes down. My brother and I mark out cuz we love Shane O Mac. He does the Vanterminator w/ a garbage can on Lashley coast to coast. it was pretty good. Then Trump goes over and clotheslines Vince and starts punching him in the head. that ruled. Stone cold back up. Stuns Shane. out. Umaga up. Stunned. Lashley gets the cover 1 2 3. Wins. Then Shane gets stunned again. Vince tries to run away and lashley pursues, scoops him up and carries him back to the ring. They strap him down in the barber chair and go to work on him w/ clippers. then they empty about 2 cans of shave cream on his head and take some Mach 4 razors to his head. He does the classic VKM freak out and it rules. Then when you think it's all over. BAM Stone Cold Stuns Trump. that really made the match.

Women's Title. Ashley vs. Melina...

all I'm saying is this. the only way I'll ever respect a WWE Diva again is if they deploy to Afghanistan and catch Osama Bin Laden. Aside from that, they could all go down in a plane crash for what they are worth.
disgusting match, and insult to Wrestlemania.

John Cena vs. HBK...

best part of this match happened before the match started.
some fan jumped the barrier and ripped his shirt off and started pulling his pants down. he had a thong on and actually got into the ring for about 5 seconds w/o interference. Then the ref tackled him w/ his pants around his ankles and a big security guy came in and rocked his world with a front face lock choke. HBK was standin over him talking shit so I can't wait to see the DVD. then 5 guys raised this dude above their heads and carried him out right underneath us.

mmmboyzzz. tons of real heat on John Cena for sucking at Wrestling and still being champ. "You can't Wrestle" chant the whole 9. So I'm way into that kinda shit. but there are 10 year olds talking shit all over the place to older people around me. They were really gettin into it. I then had to tell one kid he was "everything that is wrong in Wrestling today". he saluted me. then I told him he was adopted and got a good laugh from the surrounding crowd. He was upset and sat down, dirty look from his father was quelled when he saw I was 3x his size.

some classic terrible John Cena Wrestling. fals finish after false finish. HBK tap out. everyone hates wrestling. I say to myself "is Mr. Kennedy coming down....". nope. that's the show.

It was all in all a good Wrestlemania sanz Kane/Kahli and the Women's match. The order of Booking baffled even the marks and insiders.

my schedule for this week. pack and chill. Nice Peter Show Tomorrow at The Store. I highly recommmend going if you wanna hang w/ me before I bounce.

then Fly home Friday to 'Cuse, big Carp is pickin me up. Eddie's for fish. then home to C Murder to see my new '04 GMC Sierra. Forest Green. DD got an incredible deal on it at auction. I could sell it to a dealer tomorrow for 16K and I got it for 12K. nice. then...Easter weekend. then roll back here on Monday. Finish up some business. Pack. and then roll out for Louisville that next weekend 14-15. hopin for a saff party between now and then.

Am and always will be-

Great Recap, POPS.

I dug pro wrasslin' as a youngin', being weaned on the Von Erichs of WCCW, the Fabulous Ones/Road Warriors of the AWA, and old school Four Horsemen (Tully Blanchard, Minnesota Wrecking Crew, et al). Then I fell off, and had a brief reunion a few years back since the "brand extension" days, and then fell off quickly after that.

I think the best part of that resurgence was the chance to heckle the meta-process at these events. My favorite -- one fan snark-earnestly imploring one of the Texas Hangmen to "Hook the leg!" during a dreadful dark match. Thanks for bringin' back that memory...

thanks. Keep an eye out for The 4 Horseman triple disc DVD coming out next month. should be damn good now that WWE owns all of the AWA, NWA, WCW, and WWE footage to put into it.

What are you guys talking about? His feud with Kevin Green was maybe the highest quality feud of all time. Was Pillman ever a Horseman? I think he was.

Yeah, I... I have no idea what is happening in this thread other than Hoop D has a flash tatt' and Big T is out and a legend. My opinion on Mongo, whoever he be, is based on Pops's opinion. As are all of my opinions

Massy never fails to annoy; to heck with Cunty.
