The people of Liquid Productions have an improv team, Liquid and one of their venues is the Speak Easy Stage at the Green Door Tavern, wich is a structure that's been apart of Chicago since the time of the Chicago fire (no not the football team, in my country North Aphynixca, we call soccer that). The Speak Easy Stage is called that because the room underground where they hold their shows was a speak easy during the time of prohibiton; the place is pratically a landmark if it actually isn't. Interersting stuff right? It's historic even...but it don't stop there.
The team Liquid are all (if I'm not mistaken) former students of Del Close, and they're dedicated to representing his memory by hurting the game in the relm of the make'em ups as only Del Close would want them too. They also book groups that they feel are some where in the range of their improv vision, they're apart of improv history and continue to push towards the future. But it don't stop there. There aren't many all black teams in Chicago doing improv(these days or ever), and that's why the people of Liquid are very proud to introduce a brand new all black improv team; BLACKOUT. $5 678 Orleans, Green Door Tavern(that's downtown, Huron and Orleans), The Speak Easy Stage, Friday July 25th, 8:30pm. Don't say you're not curious. -Warren Phynix Johnson Last edited by Phynix; 07-24-2008 at 06:52 PM. |

BlackOut would like to thank the people of Liquid for having us in their house(and inviting us back), and also thanks to the people who attended, seriously, THANK YOU, SOOOOOOOOO much for making it an amazing priemere for us. It was truly a touching experience, we had a magical problem child, homosexual thug orgies, singing sweep edits, fourth walls being demolished like project buildings and bad rapping(...on accident, and that wasn't me...I was the singing sweep edit guy). If you missed it, don't worry, blackness will spout high in the air again and you'll be moved to improv Beverly Hills. Wait? I just offended myself, racially and comedically.
BlackOut, the only improv team that's Farakahn friendly. How do you say "yes and.." in Arabic? P.S. Big thanks to Eric Pederson, for having us at his late night Playground set, that same night. It was so much Blackness in improv that night, that we should've gotten a ticket for it; or at least illegally searched. Last edited by Phynix; 07-29-2008 at 10:14 PM. |
