Hello everyone,
I wasn't sure where to post this, but regardless I hope somebody here can give me some pointers. I'm trying to get a two-man team off the ground, but I'm working around my partner's hectic schedule. I feel like our best shot would be the "barprov" scene here in Chicago, but I have no idea where to look or who to ask. I'm aware of places like the Horseshoe and the Crocodile, but their websites offer no information about shows. Plus, I'm looking for something that is on Tuesday and/or Friday nights to accommodate my busy partner. Any suggestions? |

Quenchers and Underground Lounge also have barprov nights. Usually they post openings for groups here on CIN.

Stu,
Horseshoe actually is on a Tuesday, but they don't usually accept 2-man groups. Underground Lounge is also on Tuesday; plus, they have shows at 8:00 and 10:30, I believe. And for the most part, the people that run the different barprov nights post when they're looking for teams and how to contact them in the "Improv Classifieds" section on this message board. Hey!
I run a blog that publishes a list of spaces looking for performers/groups every wednesday. We also troll CIN, theater websites, festival websites and more to provide a one stop shop for Chicago improv. Check it out at www.insidejokechi.com If you click under "Show Slots and Auditions" there is a good backlog of bar prov spaces looking for groups. nb |
