The Playground is putting together its first Veteran Incubator squad!

We are only accepting improvisors who have graduated from a professional training company, either locally or in another city (such as iO (http://www.iochicago.net/), Annoyance (http://www.annoyanceproductions.com/), DSI (http://www.dsicomedytheater.com/), UCB (http://www.ucbtheatre.com/)), and have played in a professional theater (i.e. not a college troupe). We will waive the training requirement if you have performed in a professional improvisation theater for at least 2 years.

The directors for this soon-to-be-created ensemble are Ross Foti (http://www.the-playground.com/index.php?page=players&player=17) from Homey Loves Chachi (http://www.the-playground.com/index.php?page=ensembles&team=8), Lisa Linke (http://www.the-playground.com/index.php?page=players&player=18) from Mustang Repair (http://www.the-playground.com/index.php?page=ensembles&team=11), and Andy Carey (http://www.the-playground.com/index.php?page=players&player=677) from the Big Yellow Bus (http://www.the-playground.com/index.php?page=programs&program=byb). Each will direct the ensemble for four months before the next director picks up the reigns.

Once the ensemble graduates from the Incubator program, it will be able to choose their own director for the life of the ensemble. The ensemble will still be given shows and duties on The Playground schedule. Several teams built through the Incubator program still perform regularly at The Playground. Some have even gone on to become Playground Member Ensembles.

The next incubator auditions will be held on June 2nd, with callbacks on June 3rd.

shoot... i just signed up for these, and then realized i might not qualify.
what constitutes a "professional theater?" you say not a college troupe, but how "professional" does it have to be?

thanks!

Hey Elisabeth,

Go ahead and sign up. The Incubator Head approves all apps for this audition. If experience and training is up to snuff, you're good to go. If it falls a bit short, you'll get an e-mail explaining exactly why.

Hi.
I have to go through all of the signups. I haven't had time to review them yet. If you don't hear anything, that means you are in.
