Shows:
FUGUE
Director: Don Hall
Callbacks: Saturday, June 2, 10AM-1PM @ Shiel Park (plan to stay the entire time)
In the style of a musical fugue, this piece explores layered perspectives on a specific theme.
As many as four scenes will play onstage simultaneously while exploring the suggestion of the show. These scenes will invade each other's space while maintaining their own voices through fluid give-and-take.
Rehearsals will be held Saturdays, 10 AM-1PM at Shiel Park, starting June 9th.
’97 BULLDOGS
Director: Dennis Frymire
Callbacks: Saturday, June 2, 2PM-5PM @ Shiel Park (plan to stay the entire time)
’97 BULLDOGS centers around the relationships within a group of teenage to twenty-something friends, living in a small rural town, and spanning the years of 1997-2007. (We will use a variation of the “Time Dash” improv format.) Cast members will develop their characters in the rehearsal process, creating a back story and history with the other characters. We will also create a mythology for the town in which these characters live. Character monologues and stories will complement the scene work. Please note: This show will require outside-of-rehearsal work/writing.
Rehearsals will be held Tuesdays, 7-10 PM at Shiel Park, starting June 12th.
LOST IN TRANSLATION
Director: James Honey
Callbacks: Monday, June 4, 7-10 PM @ Shiel Park (plan to stay the entire time)
Lost In Translation is an exploration of how a story evolves each time it is told, The form opens with a personal monologue and follows the changes of that story through multiple retellings. After each beat, a new player "retells" the original monologue, refreshing it with themes and stories based on the previous scenes. In this way, several permutations of the monologue are told, so that in the end, it loses something it its translation.
