Film: “Fatherless”
Audition Dates: January 23rd, 24th, 25th/Callback: February 1st
Audition Location: LOUIS HALL, 1877 Campus Drive, Evanston, IL 60208
Shooting Dates: February 27th, 28th, and March 1st, Friday through Sunday
Shooting Location: Evanston Area (Tentative)
Summary: It is the year 1947. Elias, a young Auschwitz survivor who has lost his whole family in the concentration camp, finds himself in the British Mandate of Palestine, in the midst of the ongoing British-Zionist conflict. Wishing to join the freedom fighters and to be with his own people, Elias is faced with a most grueling task, one that ultimately brings to the surface the same dark side of humanity that had robbed Elias of his own family.
SEEKING:
Please note that all of the characters except Benjamin Roberts are of Jewish descent, and we would like to stick as close to the associated facial attributes of these characters as possible. But feel free to just send us a headshot.
ELIAS (Lead, Male) Late teens/early 20s. Caucasian. Short to average height. Thin to average build. European accent highly desirable but not prerequisite. Elias is a broken spirit yearning for belonging. He's a European Jew and the sole surviving member of his family from the Holocaust. Now he seeks a new life in Israel.
BENJAMIN ROBERTS (Lead, Male) early 30s. Caucasian. Average to athletic build. Must be able to do English accent. Benjamin Roberts is the British soldier sentenced to execution. Hard-nosed, introspective.
IRA (Lead, Male) early 30s. Caucasian. Average to athletic build. European accent highly desirable but not prerequisite. The strict, yet solicitous leader of this small group of Jewish Israeli freedom fighters.
REBECCA (Supporting, Female) 20s. Caucasian. European accent highly desirable but not prerequisite. A tender, caring member of the freedom fighters. A gentle mentor to Elias.
NECHUM (Supporting, Male) early to mid 20s. Caucasian. European accent highly desirable but not prerequisite. A freedom fighter that's understanding of Elias' strife, yet still dutiful to the harsh terms of the Zionist movement.
SARAH (Supporting, Female) 10 years old. Caucasian. A young European Jewish girl. Elias' innocent younger sister.
ELIAS' FAMILY (Cameo, Male and Female) 40s or 50s. Caucasians. Elias' European Jewish family members who are remorseful for Elias' actions as a freedom fighter.
