For every "Joe the plumber" there's a "Margaret mother of three", "Sarah the receptionist", "Frank the teacher", "Maria the unemployed IT specialist", "Pat the actor" and so on. For days we have been immersed in a story about a fake, an unlicensed plumber, while there are real people with real struggles all over the country. Enough of the BS about a greedy guy who wants to make over 250K and ignore that while he is making less than that, other people are paying more taxes. Enough of the socialist references - many countries have a tiered taxation system where at different income levels you pay different taxes. In fact, I'm pretty sure thats how it works here today. Its not redistribution of wealth. Its letting you pay lower taxes at lower income levels in trust that when you earn more you pay at a higher rate. Its not a disincentive to work harder. The more you earn, the more money you come home with. The money doesn't go to the poor. It builds roads, funds education ...etc. Enough!
