The Second City Training Center presents..
Comedic Songwriting I
Open to students of all levels--no previous musical training necessary.
Discover the foundation of creating musical numbers for a Second City-style revue in this eight-week course. Taught by Mike Descoteaux (the music director of Second City's ETC Stage and head of the Music Program) this unique class explores how to create a variety of theatrical songs: solos, production numbers, duets, black out songs, satirical songs, style parodies, and more.
Students will develop lyrics and have the option of composing their own music or having a Second City music director do so for them. Designed for musicians and non-musicians alike, this Comedic Songwriting class is a great way to build a portfolio and gain valuable experience.
