NC Comedy Arts Festival

February 13-22, 2009

Early Submission Deadline: Sept. 30, 2008
Regular Submission Deadline: Nov. 1, 2008

Our transition to the North Carolina (NC) Comedy Arts Festival was so that DSI could celebrate Comedy as an Art in ALL of its forms.

Rather than force everything under the umbrella of the Dirty South "Improv" Festival, we have re-branded. We have been able to pitch some amazing potential sponsors now that we have publicly embraced North Carolina as the home of our 9th annual event. That's right, 9 years!

In 2009 we are presenting both a full roster of Standup comedy (Feb 13th -15th) AND our annual Improv week (Feb 17th -22nd) that has made Dirty South one of THE most popular comedy events of the year.

In 2010 we plan to present a 3 week festival that celebrates Standup, Sketch and Improv separately, each week having an educational component specifically geared towards the focus of the participants.

In 2011 we plan to present a entire month dedicated to the Comedy Arts. Standup, Sketch, Improvisation and Digital Video.

Dirty South Feedback.

"Congrats on pulling off an amazing week; I don't think the Festival could have run more smoothly from an outside perspective. You did a great job of making it all look like a well-oiled machine from the outside. I know hundreds of people had the time of their lives."

"The festival this year was the best one ever. It was great. It was already a very cool and fun festival and it seemed to get even better."

"Once again you ran a great festival. I know I tell you every year -- but I am truly impressed."

"I had a great (and very busy!) time and the crowds were awesome. Your staff and everyone associated with the festival was first rate and please extend my thanks to all of them."

"I really wanted to take another second of your time to congratulate and thank you once more. You threw hell of a festival and we really had an amazing time."
