Even though I don't smoke, I was against a smoking ban until I spent a year in Boston where they already passed it.

It's so much nicer to go out when smokers have to stay outside.

I've got to second this, and I'm a weekend smoker.

I loved the smoke free bars in Boston and most smokers I knew felt the same way. Especially in places where there was food. I smoked less and didn't smell like a big ashtray when I got home; just a little ashtray.

Even when I smoked, I preferred not hanging out in a stale smoke filled room. PLUS, quitting is actually possible without giving up hanging out when you don't have to sit and breath in everyone else's smoke and try to resist having your own.

Governor says he'll sign it. It goes into effect at the first of next year.

As I understand, it's a complete ban in all public places, i.e. bars and restaurants.

I can't wait until the Green Mill owner starts whining in the press again. He's a douche.
