At history's doorstep...

Go Gators!

I'm totally Fitz'd right now. Like Pete, I've got too many people ahead of me with identical picks for me to win either of my two brackets.

And I had a good run so far... better than 75%.

I guess this is what happens when the favorites actually WIN.

I took off doing lights for Armando so I could watch tonight's game. Where are people watching it at? Most importantly, where are you watching the game at Danny?

The same place I was for the Gator football championship victory and last year's Gator basketball victory.

Go Gators!

I have a wine tasting at 6, but should get home in time to catch most of the game.

Go Gators!

sheesh. florida was tough tonight. again.

frickin' suckeyes. yeah, i was pulling for you to give the big ten some bragging rights. but, nooooooo. y'all couldn't hit a three to save your fricking life.

If they just hit a couple more threes, they could've kept attacking inside with oden. Or at least given him a chance to get a break. Oden had a game that showed my why he deserved the hype -- he was taking on all of the gators by himself.

Ugh. Not that I hate Florida, except Joakim Noah annoys me with his overexuberance. Al Horford was a monster, and their outside shooting just punished OSU. Bully for them -- 12 straight March Madness wins? Mercy.

Greg Oden's tyranny in the paint yesterday was beyond awesome, but the sum of the whole beat the sum of this athletic, quick and powerful 7-foot part.

As a Gator, this team couldn't have been more of a pleasure to watch, both on and off the court. Their unselfishness- exemplary. I love it when a group/ensemble/team takes the spotlight over the individual.

Go Gators!

Oden was tough last night but he really didn't get any help from outside. The Buckeyes were like 2-600 from behind the arch.

The Gators just were too much all around. Even though there was a 10 point difference the entire game I still thought it was an exciting game to watch.

What was Noah talking about during the trophy presentation about how he was going to celebrate, "We're gonna go HUGE tonight. I know you don't know what I'm talking about but my boys do. And we're gonna go HUGE!"

He was referring to the size of the marijuana cigarettes, or "blunts", they were going to craft by hand.

An underrated part of this Gator team was their perimeter defense. Teams rarely shot well from the outside against them. Because it's such a weapon for the Gators, Billy D reconized it could be easily used against us.

Against other teams, our bigs could take care of the other frontcourts without any double-teams. This usually put them in great position to rebound the ball and that was the quiet way the Gators built leads- second chance shots, often from the 3-point arc.

With Greg Oden, we wouldn't be able to guard him one on one, so we would have to double with someone from the outside.

Right?

Billy D went against conventional strategy and left the frontcourt to fend for themselves. As a result, Greg Oden ate them up. He is awesome.

But Ron Lewis and company did not get any open looks and found themselves taking tough three's the entire game. This strategy paid off for the champs.

Humphrey is an abolute assassin. I have not seen a guy break backs Mortal Combat style like he does since Shawn Respert. The lesson is: never trust a man named Lee. I don't know how he translates in the NBA (if he does), but that guy is one of the best college shooter I've ever seen.

Decent tournament, with the bulk of the hotly contested games coming in the second weekend (which is odd). I wanted to see better games over the last weekend, but Florida is just too good. That and Jeff Green decided that taking five fucking shots in the biggest game of his life was a good idea.

Apparently Hendor wants to Munson my name as a drawing dead gambler. Fair enough. I was Fitz'd last night as well, and it made me only root for a good game.

Between the two teams I really didn't love/hate anything in particular. I was an LSU fan last year, and a Georgetown man this year (rooting for Depaul makes you pick a tourney team).

It was good to see the big Guy get his. Probably his last college game. Not a bad way to go out. Not a bad way to go out for the Gators either. I think the world needs more spazs, and Jo fits that. Which I appreciate. Corey brewer is fun to watch ball.

Wanted better games, but whatever. It's baseball season. Now about having the pesky Gators to share the wealth. Come on guys, I like winning too.

I broke down and watched the game with my roommate, Dan, and our friend Alex. Alex went to UF med school and is a Gator fan.

Brewer's shot is so smooth, and I like that he has a little attitude.

Horford is a beast. The Bulls might be in a spot to take him in the draft. It'll be interesting to see if they'd take him or not. He's a 4 and a scorer.

We laughed when Horford shimmied to the camera after that second half dunk, because Dan started bitching about it. I then shimmied about twenty times for the rest of the game.

We had a bet to see if the shimmy would make "One Shining Moment." It was one of the last shots in the song, and we roared when it came on.

That same Buckeye coworker could not look at me today.

I was nice though and didn't go dance on her buckeye mat like I did during football.

I did however just give her a pat on the back and said "Don't worry, pal there's always next year"

I love bitter people. I also love being a snot to coworkers that go out of their way to talk so much trash and then their team loses. tee hee hee

Did your Buckeye coworker watch the game?

Or did she have laundry to do?

For your information, Pure Wash on Irving and California allowed to me change one of the TV's from a blaring telenovella to the game.

So I saw the entire second half. ( I couldn't incorporate TV watching into the rehearsal before that)

I did have to change the channel with the weirdest stick but I changed it and watched the Gators win it all.
