LotRO launched a couple days ago. Anybody else playing? It's pretty decent. One cool feature is "monster play" where, in addition to your main character, you play and level up an orc/spider/goblin/warg against actual players.
I'm on the Landroval server with some friends. Look up Devlyn when you get there.

I just read a scoop feature in PC Gamer the other day. Seems to be pretty interesting. I might try it out for a free month and see what's what....
Oh, and read "The Children of Hurin" if you get a chance...good story of the First Age of Middle-earth.

Will do! Should I re-read Hobbit and LotR first, or just jump in to Hurin?
Still having a lot of fun with the game.
If you are going to read Children of Hurin, you should probably re/read the Silmarillion first...as it and CoH deal with the 1st & 2nd age of middle earth.
Hobbit & LoTR are after those in the 3rd age.

I disagree. The book can stand by itself. I don't think you would need to read the Silmarillion to understand what's going on.
Now, it may encourage someone to read the Silmarillion after Children of Hurin if they were interested in the stories of the First and Second Ages, but it is not required reading to my mind.
CoH is a very quick read as well.
I also believe that there are two more books coming out..."Beren and Luthien" and "The Fall of Gondolin"
True, it can stand on its own....but I think that you would get more out of it if you read Silmarillion first.
just my 2 copper pieces.
You say Morgoth
I say Melkor
