GENRE weaves their stories through skillful parody of TV, Theater, and Film styles as suggested by the audience.
It’s the Organic Multi-Media Experience!
What to do tonight? Catch a movie, go to a show, or just sit around and watch TV? Well, you don’t have to choose! To begin, the cast collects suggestions for 3 theater styles (i.e. Shakespeare, Mamet, Musical), 3 film styles (Film Noir, Chic Flick, Scorsese, etc.), and 3 kinds of TV shows (i.e. Sit-com, Western, Medical Drama,) from the audience. The performers then weave a story, seamlessly transforming scene by scene through each of the suggested forms.
GENRE returns for a 5 week run at Donny’s Skybox Sunday May 8 through June 5 at 10:30pm appearing with Too Soon? Co.
GENRE will be performed at Donny’s Skybox in Piper’s Alley, 1608 N Wells St. Tickets are $10.00, $8.00 for students and $5.00 for Second City Training Center Students. Tickets can be purchased by calling 312.337.3992, or by visiting www.secondcity.com.
