Anyone have any good tips on the Incubator Auditions
at The Playground or know the format?
Is it scenes and freeze tag?

They are usually two person scenes followed by a montage (not freeze).

They are low-key and it is a genuinely supportive environment.

Have fun and be supportive. You'll be fine. :)

Generally speaking, you want to avoid these things in an audition...

A.) Going Blue.
B.) Fucking Your Scene Partner Onstage or Trying To Get Them To Fuck You. (Also, masturbating yourself or someone else onstage, also fellating someone else or trying to get them to fellate you, also any buttsex, giving or receiving. Save that shit for your first Incubator show.)
C.) Physically Injuring Your Scene Partner Onstage.
D.) Taking a shit onstage or pissing onstage or trying to get your partner to do one of those things.
E.) Burying Your Scene Partner Under That Hilarious Accent That Someone Somewhere Once Told You Was A Funny Thing That You Do.
F.) Arguing With Your Scene Partner
G.) Negotiating Reality With Your Scene Partner ("We're in a Submarine!" "Not really, It's A Replica Of A Submarine!" Etc.)
H.) Playing an Asshole/Bitch or Passive-Aggressive Fuckface In Your Scenes
I.) Trying To Hide On The BackWall During The Montage.
J.) Being In Every Scene In The Montage.

Yeah, so, avoid those things. I've seen them torpedo other people's auditions.

Also, doing good scenework and avoiding those pitfalls should be easy for you. Go there to have fun, to be silly, to be playful and enjoy yourself. Nothing sells you better than you, who are already a charming and interesting person, out there having a blast, ripping up your scenes. Do THAT and you'll get a second look.

Also, don't worry too much about it. If you don't get cast now, you can try and try again. Sometimes very talented people had to try a few times before they got noticed. So don't stress about making THIS audition.

Good Luck!

Here's a question.

Where are the auditions? I signed up and all, but I wasn't totally sure if they are at the theatre or at Gil Park.

Anyone?

Thanks everyone for your responses. It was a very supportive, non-cuthroat audition with a lot of very talented people!
And sorry jrrtubbs I didn't find out til this a.m. where the audition was,
but was nowhere near a computer! Hope you got the other response
from Hendo.

I certainly did. I don't know if we met, I was in the noon audition. Ryan McGillen.
