I was at the Sox game last night where I got to see, for the first time live, a no-hitter (Mark Buehrle). What a great experience.

I also saw a grand slam (Jermaine Dye). Ive seen a handful of those in the past but few enough to make mention.

Back to the no-no.

It was indeed my first time seeing that. However, it came this [please put your two fingers super close together] close to being a perfect game.

Why wasnt it? Sosa was walked earlier on. He was later picked off at first in that same inning but why oh why did it have to be Sosa?

I am not one of those fans that was booing Sosa during this series. Im a Sox fan, he didnt betray me.....he did betray my friends that are Cubs fans but I'll let them boo their own battles. Incidentally, I found out last night that when Sosa left the White Sox he weighed only 160 pounds. Dude digs shakes.

By the way, if you dont know this is Sosa's first time in Chicago since he made Kerry Wood mad at his ethnic music.

At any rate, the Panther [a nickname he gave himself; weird] was back in Sox park and he freakin gets walked...ruining the perfect game.

Of course, before you jump on me, I do not think Sosa should have laid his bat down. Hell, when he was walked, it was early enough in the game (3rd inning?) that a no-hitter was never on anyone's mind.

Its just one more thing about Sosa, I guess. I dont know where Im going with this.

Yours,

It's pretty ironic that Sosa broke a perfect game with his patience at the plate, of all things.

That is awesome you were at the game! I wish I could have been there just being a baseball fan.

If you ever want to relive the thrills of a perfect game try watching The Scout wich teamed up Albert Brooks and Brendan Fraser.

That's amazing that you were at the game.

I've never even seen one on TV and I watch a lot of baseball.

I'm happy for Buehrle. He took a lot of crap from Zox fans and announcers last year. Too bad he's going to the Cardinals next year.

Also, how about that A-Rod? Another guy who was dogged all last year and is turning around and shoving it in everyone's face. Good for him.

If only Jacque Jones could do the same thing to Cub fans.

Yeah the redemption tip is pretty sweet. Im actually feeling it for ARod as well.

I can see it happening for Jones this year too. Its early and he deserves it.

Actually, Im really excited for you guys with this Pie kid just outta Iowa. I watched his first at bat (on tv) and was screaming for the guy.
Its premature of course but I could see him doing great things.

Just as another Baseball aside...

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (and apparently most of the Braves) hold Rich Hill in fear. The article about the Cubs/Braves game yesterday was almost surreal. It started up about how their ace is having some hard luck, but it read like "Hill is a pitching god. Beware, National League!"

I chuckled.

Shoulda taken the day off yesterday and gone to Atlanta to watch the game...boo on me.
