started the new gig in Screwyville yesterday at GE. easy day of software installation, email set up, and surfing online. cons...no IM, Myspace, or Hotmail while at work. gizay. I bounced out of here at about 4:15 and shot back to the new apt.
hooked up w/ White Power and we drove over to the Davis Arena for the Wednesday Night OVW TV taping. It was pretty incredible when i walked in and saw 2 of the greatest wrestling legends ever. Dusty Rhodes, and Barry Windham. definitely felt the shiver down my spine that I was in for something big down here. I made the usual handshake rounds and gave respect to all the boyz and workers. I went up to Dusty while he was giving advice and just stood there and listened for a while. His usual "Dusty" accent is far less when he's just speaking plainly. When there was a breakin conversation I introduced myself and flipped him my card. Then I gave my respect The Widowmaker and went back on about my business w/ the guys. There were a lot of ex-WWE on camera talent there last night. kayfabe kayfabe...
so...I'm standing there and one of the guys comes up and asks me if I want to work OVdub security. I said "hell ya". cuz I'll get to be on TV even if I am only keeping people back off the gaurd rail...it was my first official OVW bit. so I was pumped...
then about 4 minutes later. The OVdub champ calls security over to talk about the angles for that night. I was pretty happy that they were gonna use for sure in some angle...so here it goes.
last week Paul Burchell, a bad ass motherfucker, gave a curb stomping to an OVW referee named Goose. Goose is smaller obviously and way over with the fans. This week he came out to adress the audience and to say that Al Snow had fined Paul Birchell a $1000 for attacking an OVW ref. So Burchell comes down to the ring and grabs goose's arm that's in a sling and starts to beat him down. The OVW Champ, Idol Stevens, does a run in to attack Burchell and save Goose. Then Al Snow sends us out from the back. I'm the third guy out and I did a pretty decent Pete Rose under the bottom rope into the ring. myself and 2 others head directly for Idol Stevens and detain him while 3 others grab Burchell and pull him back too. This sets up the main event for the evening. A title fight between the two.
So the show goes on and we get to the main event. Burchell vs. Stevens. The match is intense and it ends in a DQ so Stevens can retain the title. but after the finish they keep fighting. The ref tries to break it up and he gets KO'd. then 3 more refs come down. boom boom boom. all KO'd. Then....yup... first group of three come runnin out, which includes yours truelly. First guy hits the ring and Burchell lays him out, the 2nd guy and I both go after Burchell and he grabs security guy #2 and punches him out. I turn to my right and Stevens is right there. I drills me in the head and take my first bump in OVW. kicked my legs out and tucked my chin. I hit the mat, it felt great. then and started to sell the head punch on the ring apron. I was worried because I we were told to try and get out of the way after we took the shots. but I landed right on the main camera side. When I rolled over to sell my injury, Al Snow was about a foot from me outside the ring. He ran to the back and 3 more security guys came out. boom boom boom. out. Al comes back w/ a baseball bat and smashes the announce table trying to regain order. We start to get up slowly, cuz we only took 1 punch each. Al gets in the ring w/ the bat and I help seperate Paul Burchell from Stevens while Al tells them they are both suspended. Then I waist locked Burchell w/ the other 2 guys and pulled him toward through the curtain while he was going off.
fin.
The show airs this Saturday Night in Kentucky, Tenessee, and Ohio. I can't f'n wait. my official first bump. on camera. during a title match. awesome.
