I dunno if that is a bit or not. But I'll pretend that it wasn't.

From everything that I'd read, yeah, she was. There are several references in the Sweet and Coleman books that a lot of the guys in The Compass had pretty big crushes on her. Or they were intimidated by her presence.

I do remember reading that when she and Mike Nichols went to the St.Louis Compass theater, she enjoyed a relationship with a very young Del. Elaine even went so far as to try to get Nichols fired from the theater. Eventually she went back to Nichols and the breakup was pretty hard on Del.

It's nice to see her and Mike Nichols moving and talking in those clips. It brings their work into the real world in a way that audio clips simply can't. I can't wait to get home tonight and give them both a nice, quiet viewing.

Most people think Nichols and May are a couple, but actually Elaine May was married twice; first to Marvin May in the 1940's and then a brief (one-year) marriage to lyricist Sheldon Harnick.

Yeah she was quite beautiful and they make such a great team. it is very cool to SEE them for once!

Yeah, these videos are definitely a great learning tool for us. Classic. I could watch them all day:) And yes, Elaine May is gorgeous.

As a sidenote, at certain times, Nichols looks like a young Al Gore.

And yes, May was quite the looker.
