View Full Version : Computer help
My computer started acting funky yesterday. It starts up normally but the screen has lines all over it and looks very weird. Then it just keeps restarting itself. It's an emachine, it's just a couple years old. Anyone have a suggestion of who to call or where to go? I bought it at Best Buy and I know they have Geek Squad there. Should I try using them?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

I think your computer is pretty broken.
Is your machine still under warranty? Then take it somewhere that covers it. Geek Squad is great but it's insane expensive compared to other places. I wish I could recommend an alternative but hopefully someone knows of one. Ask around. I do know that whoever fixes it will probably either wipe or try to replace your hard drive, so make sure you either back up your stuff or pay extra to have someone else do it.

Word up. Dan is wise.
I had a 1978 Grand Prix did the same shit. Open that bitch up and pour a couple of quarts of 10W40 in it.

I can tell you now it is your hard drive, based on your symptoms. Since you have an Emachine, find out where you can have it serviced if its under warranty through Gatway since they own them.
