The Playground Theater is a 42-60 seat black box venue, located at the corner of Belmont and Halsted (3209 N. Halsted).
The Playground is primarily an improv theater, and is very short on storage. This venue is ideal for improv groups, or for sketch shows that have minimal prop/set requirements.
The Playground cannot host shows that require set pieces or extensive props and costumes that need storage space. Our lighting grid is also fixed and pretty basic - a general wash, and left, right and center isolation.
Currently, we have available for rent, beginning in January 2008:
Sundays at 10:00 pm
Mondays at 10:00 pm
Tuesdays at 10:00 pm
These slots rent for $65/night.
