Anyone know other outlets to list shows for free? I submitted to Metromix but was wondering if there were other places to promote for free (like Chicago Reader or some other Web sites.) Thanks!

You should send out press releases to Metromix, Time Out Chicago, the Chicago Reader, the Chicago Tribune, and Sun Times, for starters. Be sure to send them out at least a couple of weeks in advance so they can get your listing posted in time for printing. Also, you never know when they'll decide to cover the show for an article or review!

If you're less worried about paying audience members vs. at least butts in the seats a Craigslist ad for a show works. You just mention that it's free if you mention the ad and people will show. Just a heads up on the press, they often won't put up your show if you are doing less than an 8 week run. I know that Timeout you need to get your info to them 3 weeks in advance for it to be in the magazine.

Thanks! Unfortunately I don't have the authority to make any kind of deals like that, but I will try Craigslist, etc. anyway.
