CHICAGO IMPROV FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS

Submissions for the 11th Chicago Improv Festival will be open beginning November 1, 2007 - Jan 3, 2008.

This year's festival focus is "The Best of the Best". The CIF Showcase Stage at The Second City Skybox will feature groups given the designation as the "Best of their City". 12 shows = The Best of 12 Different Cities.

CIF will also book ensembles for the Lakeshore Theatre and the Vic Theatre too. These two venues are where CIF will book most selected Chicago ensembles.

**Please note the following submission changes**

1) CIF will not be considering or accepting sketch comedy groups for 2008.
2) The only written pieces that will be considered will be solo shows of 15 minutes or more in length.
3) All types of improvisation based material will be considered.
4) As always, special attention will be paid to those experimenting and challenging the conventional notions of improvisation.

All groups wishing to submit should send materials via mail to:

Note: If sending materials by mail please make sure they are in the DVD or CDR format. No VHS tapes please.

Materials can also be sent electronically to: msutton16@hotmail.com There is a $25 submission fee. This fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. The fee can be paid via check, money order, or paypal. For checks or money orders, please include your payment with your submission that you send to CIF's office. I've called and emailed to no avail ... is there an actual submission form or should we just deliver a description of the show and any media before Friday?

I just wrote out a letter and stapled it to the money order with - name, phone, email and a blurb about the show.
