View Full Version : Spaceship games for PS2

Way back in the early 2000s, I was gifted a PS2 which I rarely play. In my warped sense of "ambition", I would like to play more. Except I have no interest in: sports games, most first person shooter games, car games or games that involve long complicated missions.
So far the only ones I've play regularly are Star Wars: Battlefront (which is still more shooter than spaceship) and a loaner of Katamari Damacy (obscure as hell and me likey). I heard there was a Battlestar Galactica game but it's based on the original series' characters and just isn't very good.
From those clues, can anyone suggest the perfect three games for which I should seek used copies?
Thanks.
Lego Star Wars I & II are pretty good times. I don't think they fit into any of those catagories.

Odin's Sphere is supposed to be the final greatest PS2 game. It's got RPG elements, but is supposed to be more of an action game, so I think it would be fine "long objective" wise.
Mister Mosquito is the most retarded and unpolished game ever to come out for any system, and it's a PS2 game. Get it. It usually only costs about $5 and is hilarious. There's a level where you have to draw blood from a masturbating girl in a bathtub. Very burlesque.

I don't know if they ever made sequels for PS2, but I remember playing Colony Wars, and Colony Wars 2 for PS1 and thinking they were pretty awesome outer space games.

Okami is the shit. I was addicted to that game. You get to play a wolf who is actually a god and when you battle you stop time and paint on the screen with a japanese paint brush. It's also a beautiful game to look at.

It's the closest thing that PS2's got to Zelda. And yeah, there IS a spaceship attached, but it's not like you ride in it. It's an adventure game.
Also, you pee on your opponents for extra cash. I'm still trying to figure out how that works in real life.
