So, I've never played the first 2 Halo games.

Is it worth it to buy Halo 3 for my Xbox 360? Will it be too confusing?

The plot won't make any sense unless you read up on it, but the multiplayer should be sweet.

McAvoy should post and tell you his thoughts. He loves it and I think he's new to the Halo world.

One of the great new features is the saved film capability: the last 30 matches or campaign games you've played are saved for you to go back and watch, you can decide to save them to your hard drive if you want to to keep it forever, you can take screen shots while you're watching the films which will automatcially upload to bungie.net where you can download huge res images of them(this function is not totally working yet), you can switch from any players angle during the film, you can detach the camera and fly around...only thing: you can only watch the vids on an xbox 360 with Halo 3. the feature plays back thru the game engine.

here's a screenshot i took during a "Rocket Racing" custom game: teams of two are on the mongooses(quads) racing to be the first team to reach the markers on the map. each guy on the back of the mongoose has unlimited rockets. it's a blast:

file share is also a great new feature: you can share screenshots, videos, gametypes(like "Rock Racing" which need special setups) and map variants.

it's the best value ever for a video game. there's just so much in it.

oh, and I guess to answer your question: i don't think you'd be confused. i'd get in trouble with my Halo clan for saying this but i don't know too much about the story. i know aliens are trying to wipe out the human race in the year 2525(i think that's the year). i know the weapon they are going to use is a system of Halo's which will wipe the galaxy clean of every living creature in it. and mast chief needs to stop them.

plus, you can play 4 person co-op, so if you are having a little trouble you can grab someone(or a few someones) and play with them. i had a 2 hour bit-fest with lansdown and gallen playing yesterday. co-op is definately a blast.
