That's wonderful news! Please pass these warm wishes along to everyone in CIC. You deserve a great space, and I'm sure you'll have fun in your new home.

That's Awesome!
Entry Level Sales: November 2000 (my first improv team, before being put onto a Harold Team, performed with CIC more than I can remember).
Dual Exhaust: January 2001 (Beth Melewski and I had the opportunity to perform our two-person show at CIC for months before we took it to ImprovOlympic where we were retired into the CageMatch Hall-of-Fame and given an 8-month run upstairs, and then to win 2 Super CageMatch titles). Could we have done that without CIC? We'll never know...
Good luck CIC and kick ass.
Love,
Zach Ward

Hey folks,
We had our opening this week. We are all very proud of the space. Wanted to post some FAQ I got over the weekend.
1. We are planning on renting the space for rehearsals, workshops, and auditions for $15 an hour
2. We will be renting the space to other companies for shows on our dark nights. Please note because of an agreement with our land lord will will not have shows on Monday and Tuesday nights. We can have workshops, rehearsals, and auditions on those nights but not shows.
3. Our rental rates are as follows:
Wed Prime time (6pm-10pm) $125 per night
Wed Late night (10pm-Midnight) $100 per night
Thurs late night (10:00pm-Midnight)$100 per night
Thurs-Sat @8pm, Sun @ 5pm $600 per week
Sun @ late night (10:00pm-Midnight) $100 per night
(during the remount of Book of Liz Jan-first weekend in March we will have Thurs 8pm open for $135 a night)
As of this moment we currently plan to have CIC shows take up Fri & Sat late night and Sun @ 8pm so those times are not open for rental until further notice.
4. Rental does NOT include Marketing, box office staff, or production support
5. Rental does include nice clean space to do a show, great lights and sound, and we will try to make it a nice experience for itinerate companies.
We are new to this landlord business, so there will be a bit of a learning curve. But that is where we are right now. If you would like to come by and check out the space let me know.
We are booked up through the first weekend in March for prime time run.
Wed, Thurs, and late night Sun are currently open.
email angie@cicomedy.com or call 773-865-7731
Thanks and we are excited!
That's pretty pricey, the Playground has better rates than that, and a better location. What justifies such a high rate for rentals?

Actually is is pretty close if not below most store front prices
It is in line with Live Bait, Straw Dog, Stage Left, Cornservatory, Viaduct, Apollo, Side Studio, Oracle, and Prop
That is what I am basing my prices on.
And we are only 4 blocks away from IO. Between Southport and Ashland on Irving Park (2 blocks from Live Bait) so I would say the area is very comparable.

It's also about three blocks from the Music Box and is an excellent and highly adaptable space.
In my opinion, the prices are right on target for the quality of the venue CIC has built out.
