Hi Folks.
So I'm moving to Lincoln Square May 1, and I'm currently working right by the Irving Park brown line stop in the North Center area.
In the interest of keeping everything in my life in a nicely wrapped 2 mile bubble, I'd like to find a gym near these two places, or in between, which would be great, but I'm not having much luck. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Sarah

Closest I can think of is either the XSport or the YMCA by the Paulina Brown line stop...

have you tried your mom's house?
i think the old town school of music has some clog classes that keep you in shape.

Stetsko I think you may be right. I'm really surprised that there isn't a gym in Lincoln Square. But I suppose in a way it's good sign. It's not yuppified enough yet to warrant an X-sport wedged in between the apothecary and the Brauhaus.
Oh, Ryan...YOU'RE mom.

Did you just call me a mom?
Seriously though, if you're looking to get fit, I highly recommend your mom's. I go there daily, and always have a great workout.

Yes Ryan I called you a mom. You are a mom. Correct.
And if you are inferring that you have intercourse with my mother as a way of incresing your heart rate to burn calories and increase muscle mass I don't believe you. People only have sex with my mom for pure fun. Like the kind of fun you have when you go to the circus.
I'm still up for gym suggestions from others....

There's a Womens Workout World on Lawrence between Western and Rockwell somewhere.
Not sure what the facilities are like, but I know it's cheap! Wife used to go there...

I don't know of any gyms in the area. But Sarah, I'd like to warmly welcome you. I just moved to Lincoln Square myself and can definitely recommend some good skate spots for manual boxes and/or ledges.
...cause... I know that's what you're into... and not just something I like.
P.S. - There's an Apothecary in Lincoln Square? Where is this Elizabethan anachronism?
the apothecary is in the middle of the square on lincoln, across from huettenbar. it is awesome. and, yes. welcome to lincoln square. its the greatest place in the world!

I belong to Galter Life Center. It's at Foster/Francisco, right behind Swedish Covenent. It's a fantastic gym. It's walking distance for me, since I'm at Lawrence and California, but if your east of Lincoln Square it may not be walkable.
