Let me put it to you this way:

You came to Chicago to learn how to make comedy. You want to hone your skillz in order to be the best. You've been taking classes, meeting people, putting up shows. But something's missing.

Second City threw you way into your head.
You're never going to make a team at iO.
The Annoyance turns out a lot of enjoyable nonsense.
pH and Comedy Sportz are peopled by drunk tourists.

You mean no disrespect to the above institutions but where is the beauty and glory that is improvisation? Why are there so few masters with so many a relying on schticks or forms?

If you feel that there is something missing, I feel that you're right. I have been studying the art of crafting a good story which is the life blood of our medium. I have learned that dynamic scenes are the result of dramatic turns of fortune, that a well constructed piece is made up of a series of rises and falls and that characters can behave like people if they are constantly pursuing their own internal dilemmas.

I mean no disrespect to the above institutions but I have been around long enough to see their results. All of them are great places to start but I feel it is our duty as performers to push the art forward. If this is your mindset and that of your team then you should contact me. It's not good enough to meet the standard, if you want to stand out then you must improve on what has come before.
