Skirmishes is a sketch comedy revue that’s about the battles of the sexes. It’s written for three women and three men and all but the first and the last are designed to be publicity stunts.
Running Order
1. The audience is told the theme, battle of the sexes, and that it can start at any moment. Then, in a blackout type sketch as a set-up, panelists at a NOW convention discuss the issue: “And then we busted our asses and turned ourselves into the most intelligent, capable, fascinating and sexy women the world has ever known. So, why aren’t we happy?”
Of course, the problem is that they have changed, but men still haven’t. They have three ideas, but have reservations.

2. The first of their ideas. To get single men to change, there’s the Single Club, where two men find out that women now have their own search engine and Ex-Girlfriend Data Base, and can find out more about a man and his potential than he knows about himself.

3. To get all single men to be as interested in their relationships as they are in their careers, there’s the Sales Party sketch, where women have a delicious female conspiracy to create a whole male-improvement industry.

4. To make sure that married life is all it should be, NOW sells MMOs, Marriage Maintenance Organization insurance policies. Two men get tested and find out they have preconditions.

5. In Night Class, men try to cope with the new reality. They take a romance novel writing class, to figure out how to write their own love stories, but there are problems.

6. In Men’s Studies, men shut down a university, demanding a minor in relationships be added to the curriculum. (Actually, the co-founder are women disguised as guys.)

7. In Trial of the Century, a long-forgotten lawsuit finally gets a court date. As it turns out, forty years ago, women filed a class action lawsuit against all men, demanding $18 trillion in damages, plus pain and suffering.

8. In Genetic Engineering, some female hardliners, who don’t believe men will ever change, are taking matters into their own hands. They’ve given scholarships to 180 of the best female minds in the country, and will change men genetically.

9. Finally, the Town Hall sketch is an ultimatum scene, where the audience gets to be in the act. They are egged on by some characters, and the questions is, Will someone in the audience turn the battle of the sexes into a full-blown war, or will one character, Mark, not only save the day, but get Gloria back?
