Action Improv

As humans we're incredibly gifted at minimizing our vulnerability. But as improvisers those defense mechanisms can block our scenes from going anywhere. Let yourself be vulnerable, and you're not only thrust into new states-of-being, you're also forced to respond to them. In short, you're in action. This workshop will focus on recognizing blocking behaviors and pushing past them with bold, scene-forwarding moves. Get ready to move faster than your brain can handle.

Tyler Samples has trained at the Brave New Workshop, Comedysportz, Second City and iO. He is the creator and director of Tarantino: The Improvised Show, produces the weekly Playground show Extended Play, and performs with Stranger for a Day, Storytown, and the festival-touring duo Rampleseed.
