"House Ensemble AUDITIONS" by a user named "Second City" is a bit misleading.

I mean, I'm sure the music program is awesome, truly, but if you read all the posts by "Second City" there's 12 of them, all worded like this but only about the music program. Might want to consider changing your username to "Second City Music!" or posting an occaisonal plug for another part of the theater. Something.

Dan,

the Eugene Levy killbot has been deployed to your coordinates.

Good luck, sir.

Heehee.

I say all this with SC love, musical love included.

But as someone who's not really into musical improv, I just thought I'd share. I keep opening these thinking "yay!" and then going "doh!"

Do we have to meet all those prerequisites, or just some of them. For example, I am in the Conservatory and completed the Beginning program. I have not completed a year at another improv training establishment.

How often do you hold auditions, generally? (I assume as people leave the group but is it more regular?) I'd like to audition, but maybe when I am better prepared.

Hello.
You only have to meet any one of the prerequisites. So, you're good to go. This is only the second round of auditions we've held for the House Ensemble, but I'm guessing we'll audition 2 or 3 times a year.

In response to the other posts, Second City has only one user name split between the various departments. I happen to run the music program and happen to use CIN more than the other departments. They do post, just not as frequently. I hear what you're saying, but since the music program is very much a part of Second City, I don't think these threads are "misleading." (what's misleading about a thread titled "house ensemble auditions" that's announcing auditions for a house ensemble?) Maybe when the board becomes more stable, other departments will post more and even out Second City's contributions. Or, maybe you should get into musical improv and then these posts will apply to you :D

If you're intersted in hearing more about what's new at Second City, you can sign up for the online Second Citizens newsletter at the website (www.secondcity.com)

All Best,
Mike Descoteaux

Maybe the solution is as simple as titling them "musical house ensemble auditions"?
